Feature and Follow Friday
Q: Jumping Genres: Ever pick up a book from a genre you usually don't like and LOVE it? Tell us about it and why you picked it in the first place.
A: For my book club a few months ago we decided to read a book called Before I go to Sleep by S.J. Watson. Honestly at first I didn't want to read it because mystery/thriller kind of books aren't really my thing, but once I read it I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
Check it out! Leave a comment and I'll be sure to check it out and follow back!

I think I've seen this book before at my local bookstore and I saw the section it was in, but kept gravitating towards it for some reason. I may just have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of mysteries, either.
Thanks for stopping by. I'm following back via GFC
I don't read much mystery/thriller. It's not because I don't like it, but it's hard to have patience to figure out what's going on. Then usually I skim the book like crazy to find out, lol.
ReplyDeleteHere to follow back :0)

Mystery books are awesome! I used to shy away from them. However, I read this one series of books and now I am head over heels in ove with mystery/thriller books.

And surprisingly this reminds me of one book I totally totally should have mentioned, but is only now coming to me--The Count of Monte Cristo! I had to read that my senior year in high school and I thought I would hate it like I did every book I had to read in school, but I ended up LOVING it! Despite the lack of the supernatural and paranormal!

Paranormal Romance
I don't read mystery/thrillers either. The closest I've gotten to mystery was one Nancy Drew book and the Babysitter Club mystery books xD.

I love mystery thriller is a genre I like. I think maybe you just have a series with a little romance or paranormal in with it. But I guess that's not sticking directly with that genre. New follower! Loved the answer.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read or heard about this at all. Probably because it's not a genre I seek out.
ReplyDeleteMy follow friday! Please visit!

It's funny, I used to read mystery and crime thrillers all the time and then they got a little predictable. I think that's why I ended up drifting to supernatural fiction. but good on you for trying something new, sometimes we are surprised and that's when it was worth it! Thanks for stopping by my blog, I've just followed you back. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know this one, but I like to read a book like that from time to time.
