Author: Elizabeth Reyes
Publisher: Self Published
Summary: Goodreads

Rating: 5 stars

Summary: Contemporary Romantic suspense: Contains adult content

After one heartache too many, Valerie Zuniga vows to never let Alex Moreno hurt her again. A year later, she is forced to reunite with him at a party where one unexpected sizzling kiss tells her she’s far from over him. No way will she allow herself to get sucked back into that torment. She’ll resist him even if that means using the one thing that’ll stop Alex dead in his tracks: another man.

Alex is coming off one of the worst years of his life. He spent so much time wallowing in self-pity, he never realized how much he’d missed Valerie. That is, until that kiss. Now, he’s determined to get her back one way or another, and no other man will stand in his way. Especially after discovering that Valerie may be in danger, a danger he blames himself for.

Review: This series could not be any better!

Since I read the last book I've always been curious about Valerie and Alex's relationship and I'm so glad that this book is about it. Their relationship is so passionate! There is never a dull moment and we really got to see inside the characters head.

I was surprised that the second book took place years after the first one and almost all of them are out of college and have jobs. But it was really nice to see all the characters as adults and too see them mature, even silly Ramero.

Alex is a alpha male to the core. He's so dominant and possessive and I honestly wouldn't like him any other way. Sometimes he took things a little too far but Valerie was always there to make sure he knew she didn't like it and he'd always back off. Well most of the time. Alex is so protective of her and I loved that he would do anything to keep her safe and never lose her again.

Valerie is so different from when she was younger but I guess heart break does that to you. She's still very independent but she's also very stubborn. It kind of annoyed me that Valerie wouldn't take certain things seriously when they were in fact a very serious matter. But I can understand how she wouldn't want Alex to be involved in it for his safety.

Lots of action, romance, and plenty of laughter in this book you will definitely love it. I'm in love with this series and I can't wait to read the rest of this series!

  3. I'm so glad you enjoyed this book! :) I haven't read this book, since the cover makes it look like an adult romance, but I'm definitely all for a great romance book with two amazing characters! :) Maybe I'll look it up at my library some day!
