Summary: Gabriel Merrick plays with fire. Literally.

Sometimes he can even control it. And sometimes he can’t. Like the fire that killed his parents.

Gabriel has always had his brothers to rely on, especially his twin, Nick. But when an arsonist starts wreaking havoc on their town, all the signs point to Gabriel. Only he’s not doing it.

More than Gabriel’s pride is at stake -- this could cost him his family, maybe his life. And no one seems to hear him. Except a shy sophomore named Layne, a brainiac who dresses in turtlenecks and jeans and keeps him totally off balance. Layne understands family problems, and she understands secrets. She has a few of her own.

Gabriel can’t let her guess about his brothers, about his abilities, about the danger that’s right at his heels. But there are some risks he can’t help taking.

The fuse is lit…

Review: Loved this book!

Gabriel is everything I thought he would be and more. He's just as bad ass and sarcastic as the previous book but we also see a whole new side to Gabriel: the guilt ridden, hurt and confused side of that, frankly, really made my heart ache for him. I didn't think it was possible to love Gabriel any more then I already did but after reading Spark it's gone to a whole new level.

Layne really surprised me. From the summary I was expecting some nerdy girl who's weak, but she's not. Well she is really smart and has the whole nerd look going for her but there's so much more to her then just books. Layne and Gabriel are perfect for each other and when they're together  there's just so much passion between them, I love it! This is going to sound really cheesy but in a way they both complete each other. Layne needs Gabriel just as much as he needs her.

Even though I loved reading this book in Gabriel's perspective, I found myself missing Chris and Beth. When the first book ended Chris and Beth were just starting a relationship and everything was still kind of in the air. Even though we do see them occasionally I found myself wanting to know what was going on with them. They could have another book dedicated to them and I would be perfectly fine with it.

I also found myself really curious about the other brothers. It's just that so much was happening with everyone that I kind of wanted to switch their POV's for at least chapter. Even Nick and Michael get some romance in their life. I hope there are books for them, especially Michael. I mean if he could find love again wouldn't you want to read about it? I know I do. But I also understand the age gap so maybe it could be a more mature YA? Just a suggestion.

Besides romance there is plenty of action in this book that keeps you on your toes. This series is easily becoming a favorite and I can't wait to see what happens next!
